Paul Wikstrom Launches Campaign for Congress, Announces Kickoff Event April 9

Fraud fighter and engineer seeks to unseat 25-year incumbent Betty McCollum in

Minnesota’s 4th Congressional District

WHITE BEAR LAKE, MN — Paul Wikstrom, a Shoreview engineer, pilot, and community

leader, today announced the official launch of his campaign for the U.S. House of

Representatives in Minnesota’s 4th Congressional District. Wikstrom is seeking the

Republican endorsement to challenge 25-year incumbent Betty McCollum.

Wikstrom will formally kick off his campaign at a public event on Thursday, April 9, 2026,

from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Kellerman’s Event Center in White Bear Lake. The event will

feature remarks from community leaders and an opportunity for attendees to meet the

candidate.

“Minnesota families deserve a representative who will fight for accountability, affordability,

and real results — not a career politician who has spent a quarter century rubber-stamping

Washington’s failures,” said Wikstrom. “I’ve already proven I’ll take on fraud and win. Now

it’s time to take that fight to Congress.”

A Proven Record of Results

Wikstrom made headlines in 2024 when he legally challenged and disqualified a DFL

candidate who did not meet residency requirements. That victory delivered a temporary

Republican majority in the Minnesota House, enabled the election of Speaker Lisa Demuth,

and led to the creation of the state’s first-ever House Fraud and Oversight Committee.

“I didn’t just talk about stopping fraud — I stopped it,” Wikstrom said. “Betty McCollum sat

silent while $9 billion was stolen from Minnesota taxpayers. I’ll bring the same

accountability to Washington that I brought to the state legislature.”

About Paul Wikstrom

Paul Wikstrom is a University of Minnesota graduate and professional engineer with over

30 years of experience in Minnesota’s medtech and aerospace industries. He is a certified

flight instructor who volunteers his time flying medical missions for those in need. A

30-year resident of Shoreview, Wikstrom and his wife Liz raised their three children in the

Mounds View School District. He has spent more than a decade involved in Republican

grassroots organizing, including leading conventions and supporting candidates across

CD4.

“I’m not a politician — I’m an engineer,” Wikstrom said. “When something is broken, you

don’t make excuses. You roll up your sleeves and fix it. Washington is broken, and CD4

deserves someone who will actually do the work.”
